Hibernian boss Pat Fenlon was relieved to finally score a win over Edinburgh rivals Heart of Midlothian.
The Hibees managed to end a 12-game winless streak against the Jambos when they won 1-0 at Easter Road in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup on Sunday in a rather scrappy affair.
David Wotherspoon saw his 84th minute effort deflect in off Hearts skipper Marius Zaliukas and Fenlon was delighted to be involved in a much-needed win although he made it clear that there was more to the triumph than revenge after some recent domination from the Tynecastle club.
"It wasn't a great spectacle, but we've won - and that's all that matters," he said.
"It's a great day for Hibs fans and it's been long overdue. It was a scrappy game and Hearts shaded parts.
"There weren't a lot of chances. But you take the fortune when it comes.
"No, it's not about revenge, it's about rebuilding this club back to where it should be.
"It gives the players and the supporters belief in what we are doing here.
"It's a victory over Hearts and it means a little more to everyone but it's just another step in the right direction.
"We weren't fantastic, there's a lot of stuff we need to work on still. But we would have lost that game last season, no doubt about it.
"We don't look like losing a lot of matches right now. It was special for the supporters."
