Hibernian's Butcher planning to have 'free go' at Celtic

Hibernian boss Terry Butcher says his side will have a real crack at league leaders Celtic this weekend.

The Edinburgh club host the runaway Hoops on Sunday and Butcher is looking to have a free shot at Neil Lennon's men who have not been beaten in the league so far this season.

"Every club is striving to beat Celtic this season," said Butcher.

"We have reached the point where we are asking, 'Who's going to be the first to beat them?'

"From Celtic's point of view it's a nice pressure. They want teams to come at them so they can then pick them off with the assets they have.

"It's a free go for us.

"It's like being at the circus when you swing a mallet onto a button and try to ring the bell with your strength.

"It's like trying to get a 180 or a bullseye at darts. It's 'Roll up, roll up - who's going to have a go at Celtic and be the first ones to beat them!'

"It's good for Scottish football, not bad."

The Hibees currently sit seventh on the Scottish Premier League table, some 29 points behind Celtic, who are 13 clear of second-placed Aberdeen.
