Hibernian keeper cops for drink-driving ban

Hibernian stopper David Grof has been banned from driving for two years after being convicted of a drink-driving offence. The 19-year-old Hungarian has also been reprimanded by his club.

He told their official website: "I apologise sincerely for all that happened and would like to say sorry to the supporters and everyone connected with Hibernian.

"This was a real error of judgement on my part and completely unacceptable in terms of the standards expected by the club."

Chief executive Scott Lindsay said: "David's behaviour in this instance is completely unacceptable under any circumstances.

"The matter has been properly settled by the courts, and David has already been dealt with through the club's own disciplinary procedure - the outcome of which will remain private between the club and player."
