Hibernian duo still in charge as search for manager continues

Alistair Stevenson and Gareth Evans will prepare Hibernian for Saturday's SPL clash with Kilmarnock. Under-19 coach Stevenson and first-team coach Evans have been conducting training sessions following the departure of boss John Hughes and assistant Brian Rice at the beginning of last week.

The announcement suggests the Hibs board will continue to take their time over appointing a replacement for Hughes, who led the club into Europe in his first season in charge but paid the price for a run of one win in 10 games this term.

Reports have claimed that Hibs are considering a move for Brazilian coach Baltemar Brito, who assisted Jose Mourinho at Porto and Chelsea.

Another former Chelsea coach, Steve Clarke, has also been linked with the job along with Shamrock Rovers manager Michael O'Neill.

Hibs are also reported to have pulled back from an approach to former Rangers manager Paul Le Guen.

Stevenson said: "The training sessions have been productive and the players are aiming to get back to winning ways against Kilmarnock on Saturday."
