Hibernian boss wants 'ruthlessness' in Edinburgh derby

Hibernian boss Mixu Paatelainen knows his team need to be more clinical if he is to celebrate his first win over Hearts since taking charge. He said: "It is important that on Saturday when we create chances we put them away in a ruthless manner - we need to drain their confidence rather than getting uptight or anxious ourselves.

"We are aware that they have good quality players with pace, power and height, they will be a danger and we need to be wary of that and deal with it."

Paatelainen told his club's official website: "We've gone through many games this season where we have created chances but not scored as many goals as we should have.

"So often when you don't get the result you want, the finger is turned on defenders for conceding goals, but you know you can do that with your strikers as well because we have had chances in matches that we might have done better with.

"Against Hamilton last week, we had plenty of scoring chances but the main thing is that we put one of them away and got the win, and we were delighted with another clean sheet at the other end.

"We realise that the SPL is a very tight league, a very difficult league - we realise that we have not been playing as well as we should and could play, but we are rebuilding a side just now.

"However, even when we do have a great squad of players who can meet a high standard of play every time they turn out, it is not an easy league.

"We will always be against opponents who have quality, who have good players and will enjoy spells in a game where they will trouble you."
