Hibernian made it nine games without a home win after the 1-1 draw with Hamilton drew jeers from the Easter Road faithful. Derek Riordan netted a ninth-minute opener, hit the bar with a free-kick soon afterwards and Colin Nish had a second-half effort ruled out for offside.
Hughes was satisfied with the display, but rued another home game going by without collecting three points.
"It goes with the territory, but it's still disappointing when they boo," said Hughes, whose side last won at home on March 6.
"I can understand it, but did they deserve to get booed? Results wise, possibly; effort wise, certainly not.
"You need to rise above it and the only way to turn it around is by starting to play winning football.
"We're not too far away - it will definitely come."
