Emile Heskey will assure Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce he won't jump ship in January.

The Daily Star Sunday says Heskey has told friends he will not leave the Latics in the lurch and will stay for the season.

He feels a loyalty to Wigan for taking a chance on him when his career was in the doldrums.

Since moving from Birmingham for £5.5million three years ago he has won back his England place.
