Aston Villa veteran Emile Heskey has no problem being a pinch hitter for Alex McLeish this season.
Heskey rejected a return to Leicester City this summer as he feels he still has plenty to contribute to Villa.
"My enthusiasm to go into train, to go out and play, the banter - that's always there," Heskey told the Birmingham Mail.
"My recovery is not as easy as it used to be but I will carry on for as long as my body can take it.
"I'm still only 33 so hopefully I can keep going for a while yet. You just have to take it year by year and see what happens.
"Hopefully I will get a few more games this season. Who knows? But I will always be ready.
"I'm 33, but I'm like a kid - I want to play in every game, but no-one is guaranteed to do that."
