Herve Renard is being linked with the West Bromwich Albion job.
The Express & Star says new Baggies football chief Terry Burton has sounded out head coach candidates with reports from France claiming Renard has expressed an interest.
The 45-year-old, who has coached Zambia and Angola and had a spell at Cambridge in 2004, has left French club Sochaux following relegation to Ligue 2.
