Hertha Berlin are moving for Southampton midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

The Berliner Morgenpost says talks have opened between the two clubs for the Denmark international.

Hertha want to take Hojbjerg on an initial loan, though Saints are reluctant to lose the midfielder this month.

Hojbjerg signed for Saints from Bayern Munich and has impressed for manager Mark Hughes' team in preseason.

It's suggested if Hertha can sell Marvin Plattenhardt this week, they will use the cash raised to bid for Hojbjerg.
