HeroISL: Winner from ex-Leicester striker Hume sends Kerala blasters into play-offs

Kerala Blasters have qualified for the inaugural Indian Super League play-offs courtesy of a 1-0 win over Pune City on Tuesday.

Scotland-born Canada international Iain Hume came up with the only goal of the contest in the 23rd minute to send the David James-coached Blasters to fourth on the ISL table.

The victory sees Kerala edge Delhi Dynamos to the play-offs by a point and sets up a semi-final meeting with Chennaiyin FC, who finished top of the table, with the first leg to take place in Kochi on December 13 prior to the return leg in Chennai three days later.

Kerala finished the regular season with five wins, four draws and five losses from their 14 outings, scoring just nine goals and conceding 11.

The other ISL semi-final sees second-placed FC Goa travel to Atletico de Kolkata for the December 14 first leg ahead of the return bout on December 17.
