HeroISL: Atletico de Kolkata ace Luis Garcia keeping a lid on things

Luis Garcia was not getting carried away with Atletico de Kolkata's return to winning form in the Hero Indian Super League.

Kolkata ended a four-match winless run when beating NorthEast United 1-0 on Tuesday thanks to marquee man Garcia's 51st-minute goal.

Atletico extended their lead at the top of the ISL table to three points over second-placed Chennaiyin FC after nine matches but former Liverpool and Barcelona man Garcia was making it clear that the club were not looking any further than Friday's trip to Kerala Blasters.

"Our target is to win our next match," he said at the post-match press conference.

"Obviously, our main target is to reach the final, but we will try to win our next game first, that will probably take us closer to the points we target."

The goal was only Kolkata's fourth in their past five outings but Garcia feels his side has at least been generating plenty of opportunities in their attacking third.

"When you score goals, that makes you more confident, but we have been playing good football and creating lots of chances. At the end of the day that is most important," he added.
