Hero ISL: Del Piero draws blank as Delhi Dynamos held by Northeast Utd

Former Juventus legend, Alessandro Del Piero was unable to get on the score sheet for Delhi Dynamos FC as they were held to a goalless draw at home to Northeast United.

The away team started brightest, with young striker, Durga firing over the bar in the early minutes of the match. Soon after, Delhi were on the attack, with Shylo whipping in a dangerous cross, but it was somehow punched clear by Rehenesh.

Del Piero almost opened the scoring in the 14th minute, but his shot from outside the box went just wide. It was his turn to create a chance next, as he provided a lovely through ball for Mads Junker, but he fired his shot well wide.

With the scores still even at half time, Delhi FC came out in the second half really looking to push on for the opener. But it was the away side that came closest, and on 52 minutes, Durga found his shot deflected for a corner.

Del Piero was substituted in the 57th minute, with Dos Santos replacing him. It was a frustrating night for Del Piero, as he had multiple chances but was unable to score.

In the end, neither team were able to find a winner and they had to share the spoils, both taking home a point each. Delhi are still unbeaten and remain 4th in the table. Whilst Northeast United remain one position in front of them in 3rd.
