Club owner David Sullivan has heralded Javier Hernandez as West Ham United's best ever signing.

United have made some huge signings this summer by acquiring the services of the likes of Joe Hart, Pablo Zabaleta and Marko Arnautovic but the capture which has excited the fans the most is that of Javier Hernandez.

Hernandez has joined West Ham from Bayer Leverkusen for a fee of around £16million and now Sullivan has gone on to hail the ex-Manchester United star as the Hammers' best ever signing.

Sullivan said: "He is potentially the best player to ever come to the club. He is probably the best proven goalscorer we have signed.

"He's done it in the Premier League with Manchester United. His goalscoring was a goal every two-and-a-half games, so that's a pretty good record."
