Hercules striker Nelson Valdez is emerging as a top January target for Real Madrid.
Sport says the Paraguay international, so impressive in his first season in Spain, is under consideration at Real with Gonzalo Higuain ruled out for the season following back surgery.
Valdez has struck six goals this term in just 11 appearances and caught out Barcelona at the Nou Camp earlier this season.
The striker's buyout clause is set at just €5 million - well within range of Real's transfer budget.
