Heracles Almelo accept Collins John wants to return to Fulham.
The young forward had been training with the Dutch club after failing to make an impact on-loan at NEC Nijmegen.
But Heracles managing director Nico Jan Hoogma revealed: "We were keen to sign him permanently next season. But he so far has indicated he wants to return to England."
