Liverpool owner John W Henry is eager to see Brendan Rodgers secured to a new contract this season.

The Daily Star Sunday says Rodgers is comfortable with his own position at the club.

He has 18 months left on his current contract and, contrary to reports, no talks have been opened or planned.

But it is understood that the Liverpool owners will not let the situation drag on and he could be tied up on a long-term deal before the summer.
