Henry again demands Liverpool loyalty from Suarez

Liverpool owner John W Henry has again demanded loyalty from Luis Suarez. Sky high wages for top Premier League stars should not be a barrier to them showing loyalty to the collective cause and pride in the shirt, insists Henry.

He told the Liverpool Echo: "Baseball players are paid more money. So there goes that theory.

"At least in Boston we generally have the opposite experience. We just had a player who has two and a half years left of his contract and usually players go to the end of their contracts in baseball.

"But one of our best players was for the last couple of years trying to get us to sign him. So we just signed him to an eight year contract - triple digits.

He added: "There is a saying over there; it is called loyalty to the uniform.

"There is a feeling there when you put on a uniform.

"You know, for years baseball players did not change teams, they didn't really have free agency for decades.

"There is a certain feeling you get when you put on a uniform as a baseball player and probably for most football players. When you put on that uniform for the Red Sox, it's a pretty special thing.

"I imagine for most footballers to put on the uniform of Liverpool Football Club is a big moment."
