Henrikh Mkhitaryan says Manchester United's squad players proved themselves in victory over FA Cup opponents Wigan Athletic.
Boss Jose Mourinho made nine changes from the side that lost to Hull in the EFL Cup on Thursday and Mkhitaryan believes the team all staked a claim for selection in the future.
"Everyone was trying to do their best to impress the manager," he told MUTV. "We know that having a big squad is tough when you don't play so you always want to make sure you play well and take your chance."
The game saw competitive debuts for teenage defender Axel Tuanzebe and goalkeeper Joel Pereira who both came off the bench for the Reds in the second period.
"Yeah, it's great for them to play their first game," he added. "You know as a player that, when young players come into the squad, you have to help them and offer them some advice and I thought they both did well on what is a great experience for them."
United now remain the only side in England to be fighting on four fronts, something that Mkhitaryan is very focused on.
"We are taking all the competitions seriously," he asserted. "For Manchester United, every cup is very important. A trophy is a trophy. It doesn't matter if it is the League Cup, the FA Cup or the Europa League. We want to do our best to try and win them all."
