Liverpool hero Jordan Henderson's Europa League performance on Thursday was well-received by manager Brendan Rodgers.
The much-maligned midfielder scored the match-winning goal as the Reds beat Udinese 1-0 in Italy to finish top of Group A of Europe's second tier club competition and his output was not lost on his boss.
"He is a great lad and works hard and has come in over the last month and made a good contribution to the team," said Rodgers of Henderson who has failed to make an impact at Anfield since his big-money move from Sunderland last summer.
"It was a very good finish and he was unfortunate not to get a second goal as the keeper made a wonderful save.
"He has that quality to arrive in the box and he has a finish in him so I am delighted for him and his hard work is paying off."
