Hellas Verona have formally released Antonio Cassano from his contract.

Former Sampdoria striker Cassano - for the second time - announced his retirement this week.

While his wife initially claimed he would play for another club, the veteran announced his retirement from football and today his contract has been officially terminated.

“Hellas Verona announces the consensual resolving of the relationship with the player Antonio Cassano," a short statement on the Butei's website reads.
