Everton defender John Heitinga has hinted at a return to Holland as it remains unclear whether he will feature in the plans of new boss Roberto Martinez. Heitinga has one year remaining on his contract at Everton and he admitted that he is likely to be moving on.

"I've had my worst season since I joined," he said.

"I don't want to extend my contract because it would mean they'd be my final club outside Holland.

"I have played in Spain and England, so maybe it's time for somewhere else."
