SC Heerenveen coach Marco van Basten has revealed an approach from AC Milan.
The Dutch legend was in Milan last night to see his old club defeat Juventus.
"I never turned down the Milan bench. I spoke two years ago with director Ariedo Braida, but it was only part of exploratory talks and nothing serious," he told Sky Sport Italia.
"I had to have ankle surgery and then nothing more came of it. Besides, I do not feel ready to be the Milan Coach.
"I am in charge of Heerenveen and want more time to improve myself. We'll see in the future. The work of a Coach is different to that of a player, as he has to make players understand how to work together and it takes time to become a good manager."
