Hebei China Fortune coach Manuel Pellegrini admits his time with Real Madrid was the worst period of his career.
Pellegrini was in charge of Real for the 2009/10 season.
He recalled: "My period in Madrid was the most painful of my career. The team was not complete, was still in a training stage and had some obvious problems. I went with a bitter taste of not achieving any title despite making record points in a League.
"It is true that big stars arrived, but we had many forwards and few midfielders, the players I wanted to keep were sold. In addition, Cristiano (Ronaldo) was for a good part of the championship injured. I would have liked to have had more time, many figures arrived that year, and sometimes it takes time to complement them in the best way."
