Hearts winger Driver to miss rest of season

Heart of Midlothian winger Andy Driver may sit out the rest of the Scottish Premier League season if he undergoes further thigh surgery.

The 23-year old had an operation in Sweden in the summer and has been restricted to just 12 appearances this season.

Hearts boss Jim Jefferies said there was a chance that Driver could have more surgery this weekend and admitted it was a shame injuries had taken their toll on the talented Englishman.

"The big blow is that Andy has battled on for as long as possible now and it has affected him," Jefferies told the Daily Record.

"There is a possibility he might be going for an operation prior to Saturday. We'll have to wait and see."

Hearts currently sit third on the SPL table and have three games remaining, starting with a vital clash in terms of the title as they play Rangers at Ibrox on Saturday, a day prior to second-placed Celtic meeting Kilmarnock.
