Hearts midfielder Bruno Aguiar has had fresh ankle surgery.

Assistant coach Stephen Frail told the Edinburgh Evening News: "He went for surgery late last night. It's still the same ankle. I'm not sure what the expected outcome is and I wouldn't like to hazard a guess at the moment.

"We are concerned at how long this is taking, as you would be when one of your players has an injury and you haven't got to the bottom of it and then he needs an operation.

"I've no idea when Bruno will play again and I haven't spoken to him. He's in London just now and hopefully he's okay after the operation. Any player you lose is concerning but the most important thing is that he comes back fit for himself. Then we can see about getting him back in the team."
