Hearts owner Romanov delighted with Celtic victory

Hearts coach Stephen Frail has revealed club owner Vladimir Romanov is still keeping tabs on their results.

Romanov made a telephone call of congratulation to the team's coaching staff this week after the 2-0 victory over Celtic in the CIS Insurance Cup.

An infrequent attendee at Hearts matches over the past year or so, Romanov spoke to sporting director Anatoly Korobochka.

"I didn't get a call from Mr Romanov, but Anatoly spoke to him," reported assistant coach Stephen Frail yesterday. "The message was passed on to the players that the owner was delighted with the win."

Romanov has not attended a Hearts match in Scotland since the pre-season friendly with Barcelona on 28 July. Before that, the last match he took in was the 1-1 draw with St Mirren on 17 February.
