Hearts defender Jordan McGhee is joining Middlesbrough.

Hearts head coach Robbie Neilson has confirmed McGhee will sign for Middlesbrough on a season-long loan.

The 19-year-old impressed in central defence for Hearts on their return to the top flight last season, helping the club to a third-place finish.

McGhee's form in the first half of the campaign brought him to the attention of Boro, and he missed out on a switch to the club on the last day of the January transfer window as a deal could not be processed in time.
