Heart of Midlothian left-back Danny Grainger will be sidelined for the remainder of the season after learning that he requires knee surgery.
The 26-year old former St Johnstone and Dundee United defender suffered cruciate ligament damage during Saturday's 0-0 draw with Motherwell and will now go under the knife to fix the problem.
"Had some terrible news today about my injury to say im gutted is an understatment [sic] but unfortunately i will miss the rest of the season," he posted on Twitter.
"I need an operation on my knee which means im gonna be out between 6-9 months! lots of kind msgs from footballers and fans means a lot."
