Hearts cup hero Beattie: I knew something would happen

Hear of Midlothian's Scottish Cup semi-final hero Craig Beattie admits he felt there could be some late penalty drama in yesterday's clash with Celtic.

The 28-year old striker converted from the spot in the 89th minute at Hampden Park to send the Jambos through to an all-Edinburgh cup final, where they will meet Hibernian next month, and he says he had a feeling something like that was going to happen.

"I don't know if it was a premonition but I just had that feeling the whole day," said the former Celtic and Swansea City man.

"I took a couple of penalties like that yesterday and I knew that was the way I was going to go.

"All I was thinking about was taking my shirt off and making a fool of myself. But it was a great moment.

"What a game it will be now - an Edinburgh derby in the Scottish Cup Final is magnificent and the boys are all looking forward to it.

"The boys were all fantastic, what a shift they've put in."
