Hibernian boss Mixu Paatelainen reckons his under-strength side were fired up by counterpart Csaba Laszlo's jibes in their Edinburgh derby win at Tynecastle. In the build-up to Thursday night's game, Laszlo proclaimed his team were superior to Hibs in every way.
The broadside backfired as their injury and suspension-ravaged arch-rivals snatched a 1-0 victory.
"We had heard the comments from Hearts saying they were better than us - and we used it as further motivation," the Finn told his club's official website.
"If they are going to say that then they have to come out and prove that.
"We have now beaten them in the last two games and we did not lose to Hearts in our four league meetings this season - that's what the stats will always show."
