Hearts coach Frail delighted with Jonsson progress

Hearts coach Stephen Frail is excited by the potential of young prospect Eggert Jonsson.

The 19-year-old has become a first-choice member of the Hearts side this season after developing into an impressive midfielder since signing for the club in the summer of 2005.

The youngster appears to have found the perfect foil in the centre of the Tynecastle side's midfield in the shape of Michael Stewart and turned in another imposing display in Sunday's 4-1 victory over Aberdeen.

And, revealing the teenager had been drafted into his country's full squad for their final Euro 2008 qualifier against Denmark, Frail is hoping the playmaker will continue his upward spiral.

He said: "I just think Eggert Jonsson is improving week-in, week-out and he looks a class act.

"It helps being in there with the energy of Michael Stewart but the boy is growing every week.

"He's been called up to the national squad for Iceland, which is massive honour for him at such an early age.

"Hopefully he'll just keep doing what he's doing because he's a great lad and he's a great football player."
