Hearts boss will quit unless backed in transfer market

Csaba Laszlo will walk away from Hearts unless owner Vladimir Romanov backs him in the transfer market. The Jambos boss has been offered a new contract but is currently stalling on extending his stay at Tynecastle.

Laszlo has been frustrated in his attempts to bring new faces to the club this summer and on Thursday night Hearts suffered a 4-0 Europa League humiliation at the hands of Dinamo Zagreb.

Asked if he would consider his position if Romanov fails to back him in the transfer market, he said: "If you are realistic, yes.

"You don't ever know what will happen in football."

But Laszlo insisted he would gladly sign a new deal if his demands are met, saying: "Hearts is a great club and if I get the help to go and realise my vision, yes."

The Scottish Football Writers' Association Manager of the Year added, "I was in the last five years the longest in this position, and this was not an accident."
