Hearts boss Sergio wants Edinburgh rivalry to continue with respect

Paulo Sergio says he is all for a strong Edinburgh rivalry but feels it should be conducted with plenty of respect.

Sergio's Heart of Midlothian face Pat Fenlon's Hibernian in the Scottish Cup final at Hampden Park tomorrow and although the Jambos boss is well aware there is a fiery nature between the two clubs, he has stated that he wants a mutual respect to be at the forefront of the competitiveness.

"They signed many players in January and signed good players. I respect Pat and the club," the Portuguese said.

"I've gone to see games at Easter Road and people respect me.

"We should live a rivalry in the city but with respect and the fans should be the same.

"That is the way we should live football and keep alive this rivalry.

"Respect should always be first over everything else in our relationships."
