Hearts boss McGlynn accepts likely McGowan departure

Heart of Midlothian manager John McGlynn is expecting Ryan McGowan to soon depart the club.

Heart of Midlothian manager John McGlynn is expecting Ryan McGowan to soon depart the club.

The Jambos have accepted an offer of around $650,000 (£420,000) from Chinese club Shandong Luneng for the 23-year old Australian international and McGlynn suggests a move away from Edinburgh is imminent.

"The club have accepted a bid for Ryan so he won't play any part in the game tomorrow,” said McGlynn.

"He's not put pen to paper. It's disappointing to lose him but if good offers come in we need to accept them.

"Since I've been here he's played every single minute of every single game.

"He's been a massive influence both on and off the pitch. He's a really, really good character.

"He's a great lad, so he'll be a big miss.”
