Heart of Midlothian manager Jim Jefferies praised young Australian defender Ryan McGowan for his performance on the weekend.
The 21-year old put in an impressive 90 minute shift in the Scottish Premier League's season opening weekend as Hearts drew 1-1 with reigning champions Rangers at Ibrox and Jefferies believes he deserved his Man of the Match award.
"I felt young McGowan deserved his man of the match," Jefferies said.
"He had a terrific game and kept the Spanish lad (Juan Manuel Ortiz) very, very quiet. Won all the tackles, closed him down.
"He's a useful player for us and hopefully this is a good season for him."
