Hearts boss Jefferies insists club will assist authorities with pitch invader enquiries

Jim Jefferies says Heart of Midlothian FC will do what they can to help the Scottish Football Association and the police in their investigation of last night's events.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon was attacked by a fan early in the second half of his side's 3-0 win at Tynecastle Stadium and opposing manager Jefferies said there is simply no room for this type of behavior in today's game.

"It is unbelievable," he said. "We don't condone that in any way. It has to be looked at how the guy got through, but thankfully Neil didn't get hurt.

"He seemed to get onto the pitch easily.

"The club will help the authorities to make sure that never happens again and the right course of action will be taken because it was just nonsense.

"It seriously has to be looked at."
