Hearts boss Jim Jefferies was happy with victory over St Johnstone in front of club majority shareholder Vladimir Romanov.
Hearts, who beat Rangers last weekend and meet them again on Wednesday, had won 10 of the previous 11 league games before the loss at Celtic.
Jefferies' second spell in charge of Hearts has now lasted a year, but it was just Romanov's second visit to Edinburgh.
Jefferies was pleased his squad impressed in front of the Lithuanian.
"It was most important that while he was here we showed the character to bounce back," added the manager.
Romanov would be the man to sanction any moves in the transfer market before Monday's close.
When asked if he expected arrivals or departures, Jefferies said: "There's two days to go, you never know."
