New England Revolution are on the hunt for a new head coach for the first time in a decade following the decision to part ways with Steve Nicol earlier this week.
The former Liverpool star and the Revs mutually agreed to end their working partnership after 10 seasons and now club officials have to go about bringing in his replacement.
One name to have already been mentioned is that of 35-year old Jay Heaps, who served the club as a defender in between 2001 and 2009, and played most of his career in Foxborough under Nicol. He has been more recently working as a commentator on the team's television broadcasts.
The other is another long-serving Revs player, Steve Ralston, who has been gaining coaching experience as Dom Kinnear's assistant at Houston Dynamo for the past year and a half.
