Mamadou Sakho could yet play again for Crystal Palace this season.
The Daily Mail says the Crystal Palace defender, who has enjoyed a revival in form and fortunes since leaving Liverpool on loan, looked to have sustained a serious issue when he hyperextended his knee in the 1-0 defeat to Tottenham on Wednesday.
There were fears that it could be an anterior cruciate ligament or a possible medial ligament tear, which would have meant months on the sidelines and jeopardised his chances of securing a permanent move from Anfield in the summer.
However, scans have shown that the France international has done nothing more than sustain serious bruising.
He had his knee put in a brace after the game on Wednesday as a precaution but he will now begin a period of rehabilitation and could even play in the final fixture of the season away at Manchester United.
