Eden Hazard has urged Diego Costa to refrain from getting involved in unnecessary altercations with opponents.
The Chelsea striker has received three yellow cards so far this season, two for tangling with opposing defenders who have evidently been sent out to irritate him.
It is obvious that the former Atletico Madrid ace responds to retaliation but Hazard hopes he can begin to shrug off the advances as he continues to get used to the physicality of top-flight English football.
"We all know how he will react, he needs to be careful that he doesn't get too many yellow cards," said Hazard.
"This is part of the game [opponents targeting him], everyone knows that. He needs to focus.
"He is a very good striker, one of the top three in the world right now. When he is confident, he scores and right now he is confident and in form."
However, the close attention has not dented Costa's form as he leads the Premier League with eight goals from his six outings for his new club.
