Hat-trick hero Mane hails Liverpool teammates: They make it easy for us

Sadio Mane has praised his teammates following Liverpool's 5-0 win over Porto on Wednesday night.

The Reds have all but booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League after their emphatic win in Portugal.

The Senegalese attacker bagged a hat-trick in the rout, but he saved special credit for his teammates for helping the attackers score goals.

Mane told BT Sport: "I'm always pleased to play with these great players," he told BT Sport.

"Everybody talks about us three, but our teammates make it easier for us. Without the team we are nothing, they do a great job behind us. We're lucky boys that we score all the time.

"Honestly, it was not an easy game, even though we scored five goals. The most important thing was to play as a team – and we did it.

"We played great football from the beginning until the end. We created so many chances and scored five, so it was deserved."

Asked which goal was the most pleasing, Mane added: "The third one. It was a nice strike.

"I've always enjoyed playing with these great players. Without the team [behind us] though we are nothing. They give us the ball."
