Veteran striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is undergoing a medical at Cardiff before putting pen-to-paper on a contract at Ninian Park.
Hasselbaink had looked set to join Leicester earlier this week before the move fell through and now the Dutchman has agreed to switch to Cardiff.
The Bluebirds have offered the former Leeds and Chelsea hit-man an initial one-year contract with the option for a second season.
"Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink will have a medical today and then sign his contract," chairman Peter Ridsdale told the South Wales Echo.
"Jimmy showed Dave Jones and I he is enthusiastic and hungry to get started."
