Hasselbaink's Royal Antwerp not interested in 'terrible child' Riordan

Scottish forward Derek Riordan has been described by Royal Antwerp chairman Gunther Hofmans as an 'enfant terrible.

The 31-year old former Hibernian, Celtic, Shaanxi Chanba, St Johnstone and Bristol Rovers striker has been linked with the Belgian second division club, currently managed by former Chelsea star Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, but Hofmans insists no deal will be forthcoming for the 'terrible child'.

"First and foremost, we have six strikers at the club already and we are not intending to lose any of them," he said when quizzed on the possible signing of Riordan.

"Additionally, Riordan appears to be something of an enfant terrible and has the disadvantage of not having played any league football for over a year.

"We don't take such risks with only 12 games left for us.

"If we bring a player in, he must be immediately employable."
