John Hartson is backing his former Celtic teammate Craig Bellamy for success at Manchester City.
In his column for the Scottish Sun, Hartson wrote: "Massive player. Bigger mouth.
"This week my little pal moved to Manchester City for a whopping £14million. I just wonder how much he'd cost, and who he'd be playing for, if he knew how to keep his gob shut for five minutes. What a player the boy is.
"One of the best in the business. He has the pace, power and presence demanded at the very highest level. Problem is, nobody knows it better than he does. That's the perception people both inside and outside the game have of him.
"I'm not having a go at him. Bellers is someone I consider a mate. I played with him for ten years with Wales and I was at Celtic when he joined us on loan. In fact, now I think about it, it was ME who made him the player he is today.
"I'm sure he'd just laugh at that, though, and point to the simple facts and figures. Over my career I cost a total of £19.3m in transfers. Bellamy? Just the £45m. More than double my tally."
