Paul Hart has warned Portsmouth's powerbrokers the club cannot risk dropping into the Championship.

The former Nottingham Forest manager said: "Even from the end of last season I would have said whatever happens it will be a tough season.

"Yes, it will be a hard season, but we are one of many clubs in that business.

"I'm going to build my part up in this and say it is going to be a miracle if we stay up!

"It's hard. The Premier League is going to be tough. We are one of many clubs outside the top four in that position. I don't think that's different to any other year.

"Making the transition from Championship to Premier League and staying in there is very difficult.

"There are skeletons from Leeds, Ipswich, Charlton and sides like that. It's an unforgiving place."
