Everton have gone cold on a deal for Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart.
The Daily Mail says Everton have withdrawn their interest in the out-of-favour City keeper.
Everton had held preliminary talks with City about Hart's situation but further discussions on Monday ended with the Goodison Park club taking the decision to put a line through any idea of pursuing a deal before the window.
It would have cost Everton in the region of £7million to take Hart for a season on loan, when his £135,000 per week wages were taken into account, and that kind of expenditure was not something to which they were prepared to commit.
