Harry Kane putting Spurs ahead of World Cup glory

Tottenham striker Harry Kane insists he's not bothered about his World Cup fitness.

England boss Gareth Southgate will be desperate for Kane to stay fit for Russia.

But the striker insisted: “It depends on how my body holds up.

"I do everything I can to try to make sure I can play every game. Sometimes you get niggles, like the knee and the hamstring, and you have to do what is best for you at the time.

"I will try to play every game, but if it isn't possible I will try to get back as quickly as I can.

“The World Cup is a long way off and a lot can happen between now and then. So I just have to keep myself fit and healthy and see what happens.

“It was a rush to get back for the Arsenal game, shall we say — I wanted to get back as soon as I could. I didn't want to miss the derby.

“I felt good and wanted to play in Dortmund, and the gaffer gave the opportunity. I like to get into a rhythm of playing and getting minutes.

“I think I went two or three games without scoring but the fact people are mentioning it shows the high standards I have set myself. That's fine with me — I want to score in every game.

“I was disappointed not to score with a couple of chances at Arsenal, so to get a half-chance in Dortmund and stick it away was pleasing."
