HarperCollins in panic over Man Utd ace Rooney's England ban

Manchester United star Wayne Rooney's publishers are in a panic over his England suspension.

The Daily Mail says Rooney's record £5million five-book deal with HarperCollins is the subject of much discussion at the publishers, who are considering a revamp of the troubled contract.

The second autobiography in the series has already been postponed once following England's dismal 2010 World Cup. Plans to bring out the book either before or after Euro 2012 are also on the back burner, with Rooney suspended from the group stage of the tournament.

With football life stories not selling well, there are doubts whether a big enough market exists for at least three more Rooney memoirs.
