Hargreaves urges Man City boss Pellegrini to "support" Hart

Owen Hargreaves is surprised to see former Manchester City teammate Joe Hart struggling this season.

The retired England midfielder feels Hart deserves greater "support".

"The Hart situation surprises me," he told the Manchester Evening News.

"If I was running the club then I would always look to pick my difference-makers and Hart is one of those. He's not perfect but who is?

"I think he will be the best goalkeeper in the country for the next 10 years and the England goalkeeper for the next 10 years. If he is not back as City's first choice any time soon I would be surprised, but that is the beauty of football.

"It's Manuel Pellegrini's job to pick the team and if he leads them to success he will take the plaudits. I think Joe just needs support."
